Due to COVID-19 global pandemic, Greenlife has taken an unforeseen hit. After COVID-19 cases began spreading around the communities in which Greenlife serves, Greenlife was forced to halt all of its programs and projects. During this time, the Greenlife Primary School was also out of session for almost an entire year, causing its almost 200 students to become a year behind. Although masks have been donated to the school and Greenlife’s staff, social distancing mandates are almost impossible to maintain under constrained resources and facilities. Because of this, Greenlife staff does not want to risk the health of those that we serve, and are still under hiatus. We continue to work tirelessly to come up with solutions to remedy these issues, and thank you for your ongoing support during these difficult times.
UPDATE 1/17/2021: The Ghanaian government has lifted the ban for schools to be in session, and 1/18/2021 will be the students’ first day back. New government social distancing policies have required new buildings to be constructed on the Greenlife Primary School campus, and allowed for larger loans to be taken out to fund them.
